can a lpn do compression dressings in home care?

Our HH agency is in the state of Louisiana and I

know it is in the LPN scope of practice here but

I can't locate anything related to a HH reg.

Am an RN in home health in Louisiana and the Agencies I have worked with will only allow RN's to apply compression dressings.

yes, that seems to be the practice of all the agencies I have worked also, but I can't find a state or federal regulation saying that a lpn can not do it or that it must be a rn. We have an experienced lpn that is very capable of doing a compression wrap and would monitor the pt properly. Our physical therapist documented that she trained this lpn on how to do it correctly. We were just wondering if we would be out of compliance if we allowed this lpn to continue seeing her pt and being responsible for the wrap.

You could call DHH and ask them what the reg is for this.
