What I'm hoping to find is a comprehensive list of hospitals around the nation that have neonatal intensive care units, as well as the level they are. I'm not too optimistic about this, but a girl can hope, right? I am still a student, but I am now half way through the program and would like to start looking at prospective hospitals. Any suggestions on resources that identify hospitals with a nicu would be greatly appreciated, even if I have to go through and do it state by state.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!
A list of NICUs in the U.S. would be pages and pages long. Your best bet is to run a google map search for hospitals in areas you want to work in. Visit each hospital's website, and look under their "Medical Services" tab. Or just run a job search via Indeed.com.
Most community, all University-level, and all children's hospitals have NICUs.

The easiest way that I have found is to look at a US map, then record the states you wouldn't mind going to (in order of preference). Then you can go to the US News & World Report website. They're the ones who give the awards for "America's Best Hospitals". On their website, you can search by zip code, city, state, even specialty. It seems to be working pretty good, though it is very time consuming b/c you then have to research the hospital yourself to find the level/stats/etc; but then again you'll learn about each hospital. :) Hope this helps.
