compass test

I am new to this site. I found this site while trying to find material to study for the compass test. I am a little nervous.:uhoh3: I take the test Nov. 11th at Tennessee Technology center in Murfreesboro. When signing up to take the test I asked what helps your chances of getting into the LPN program. The lady that I talked to said that it is based on your scores on the compass test. This is why I am so nervous. If there is anyone that has applied to this technology center and can give me some advice I would appriciate it. Until I take the test and know how well (or bad) I did, I am going to think positive. :)

Is the compass test a national, standardized test? If yes, I can give you some pointers. At my school, we were able to take the test twice per semester. The first time I didn't do so well because I reviewed the wrong material. The second time, I studied a lot. The math isn't hard, it is stuff you learned in high school. Luckily I had friends in high school who let me use their notes and books! It starts from algebra and goes up from there. I got to the trigonometry part, and got a pretty good score but not enough to get into the current nursing program at the time. It was alright though as they realized that admitting students based mainly on compass scores was NOT a good idea and drastically changed their admissions. As for the English portion, I did very well, and I don't really know how you would study for that...
