COMMUTING TO OHSU

I wanted to see if there are any OHSU students out there that commute to main campus from Salem? I wanted to find out where do you park (my understanding it's not possible to park near campus) and if you could share other options available such as park&ride bus or Tram nearby or any others? How do you manage to keep cost low and save time? Thanks for sharing.

Hi Art,

I don't commute from Salem but I am a current student there. I don't think anyone from my cohort commutes from Salem either, but I'm sure in one of the classes someone does!! My advice to you would be to call the School of Nursing and ask if it's possible for them to put you in touch with a current student from Salem. Best of luck to you!

There's a park and ride at the Barbur Transit Center, which is right off I-5. Tons of parking. The 64 express stops here and makes very few stops on the way to OHSU. If you don't want to drive all the way to PDX, There's also a park and ride lot at the regal cinemas in Sherwood. There's an express bus (94 I think? Or 92?) that makes very few stops up Hwy 99 and also stops at the Barbur TC. If you call trimet and explain your situation, they'd be happy to help. Good luck!
