Commissioning Documents/Orders

Hey everyone!

So I got the exciting news on 1 August that I'd been final selected into the Navy Nurse Corps. My question: how long does it take to get the commissioning documents so I can swear in and get my orders so I can give my job notice? My recruiter is telling me I'll most likely be in the 11 Sep ODS class, so you would think both would happen soon right?

Can not answer you about when you will get your orders since I am Army. Depending how well you get along with your supervisor depends on how early you give them the heads up. If you have a good relationship I would give the heads up now and official once you get your orders. Once you do give offical notice make sure it is MILITARY LEAVE and not a resignation. Your employer might tell you that you have to resign but you do not. The reason for military leave is that it will hold a position for you at your employer for 5 years. The reason is in case you do not make the military a career and you have a job lined up when you get out.

I planned on doing the military leave thing, I just want things to be confirmed, I hate all the ambiguity.
