I worked as a Nurse from 1984 to 2020 and thought, "What would I say to myself coming and going?"

I worked in in a newly opened psych unit at Weed Rover Township Hospital (WRTH) from 1984 to 86 as an LPN. Nurses still wore white in those days and some nurses wore caps. I too wore white and attached my nursing pin to a white baseball cap.

In the days before WRTH hired a Recreational Therapist, I would sometimes take the Patients out to a field adjoining the hospital to play softball. I loved playing softball in those days, even though I was never very good at it.

For example, I once subbed on my brother's team, playing second base, when a line drive was hit to me. I went to catch the ball and was smacked right in the face. The ball fell to the ground, I picked it up, and threw the batter out at first.

So, this animation is a realistic recreation of one of my early nursing days.
