It depends on your immediate needs and future for the next two years. If you are the typical web browsing, social media, youtube watching, microsoft word, then a netbook is just right. But any extensive picture or video editing or other heavy applications, reconsider. Any good laptop, or netbook, should last about two years before you might want to consider replacing it. For most average users, the configurations don't differ from brand and model.
By choosing a netbook, you are focusing on lightweight and small size. You sacrifice screen size, small hard drive space, and battery to achieve the netbook's appeal. If you are thinking about using the netbook as your "main and only" computer I would recommend reconsidering for a regular sized laptop. The price differences between a great netbook and average laptop is normally less than $100.
The options to consider for getting a netbook you want to look at is memory and battery size. Always opt to pay the extra $$$ for a 6 cell battery. The standard 3 cell batteries will barely get you through a normal 2 hour class period after a few months of normal use. The extra memory will help when you want to have MS Word and Web Browsing and Itunes playing all at the same time.
The Samsungs have been a good reliable netbook for a little extra $$$. For any product you want to buy online, I recommend looking at user comments and reviews on Amazon.com and checking out review sites such as CNET.com. Also a BIG recommendation for netbook buyers is to try and find a local electronics store that has a similar model or same brand so you can test drive the layout and feel of a smaller and compact keyboard common on netbooks.

Check out TigerDirect. They have consistently great pricing on new and refurb stuff and they get a lot of ratings and feedback from a large, knowledgeable customer base.
Check Amazon, too.
