Combat Medic

Hi, i would like to know which books would be recommended for pre-nursing. I'm not planing to apply for nursing school until 2015. I would be deploying soon and i would have a lot of time to read and practice. I have done most of the jobs in a Combat Support Hospital from Sick Call(including diagnosis), ICU, Nursing (including charting and medication administration), , surgeries under supervision of a License Doctor and Combat Medicine. That was from my previous deployment, and i also got a Associates in General Studies while deployed. Right now, i'm still working on my prerequisites.

Specializes in burn ICU, SICU, ER, Trauma Rapid Response.

If I were you I would read non technical books like nurses autobiographies so you can get a feel for different kind of nursing. I wouldn't worry about the technical aspects. I would also suggest spending some time researching where you should go to nursing school. For example in some states army combat medics can become and RN in 9 months along with some CLEP. Other states give medics virtually no credit or advanced standing.
