Columbus Tech ADN Spring 2017

Published

It's finally our turn guys! I cannot wait to apply in October. Hoping that more of you join in here while we get started on our NLN's and finish up our pre reqs.

About me... I have a 4.0 so far, 99's on COMPASS Reading and Writing.

I am currently taking micro, AP2, and sociology (towards my BSN later). Will take algebra over the summer (and possible english 2 also towards BSN).

Taking the NLN next month for the first time and again in the summer for my final score.

I'll be applying for Spring 2017 as well. I'm starting to get super nervous and panicky now that it's fall semester and nearly time to apply. I'm taking my final two classes this semester (A&P2 and Psychology). I made an A in A&P1, so as long as I do as well in A&P2, I'll finish with a 3.5 GPA (did bad with a C English, and a B in algebra, made A's in everything else). Took the NLN-Pax last spring, made a 139 (95%), not sure if I should take it again. My COMPASS is 94/93 in Reading/Writing. I don't know if any of this is good enough. I felt good about things a semester ago, and now I'm just sure I won't be accepted. My advisor said since I had such good grades in everything else, that the C in English would be fine, and to focus on A&P2 rather than retaking English as well. But I feel worried about my 3.5 GPA now, and I still haven't decided if I should retake the NLN-Pax. It couldn't hurt, I guess. I wish we knew a general statistic on all the scores for people who have been accepted, and what sort of scores we'll be competing against when we apply.

I'm so glad somebody found this thread! Let's meet up soon at school and chat too but girl, I feel really confident that you will get in with those scores!

Go go see Barbara gaither at school and get your packet started! We can turn it in as soon as 9/15. Your NLN is really good... And your compass shows your competent in English. I wouldn't worry! Get that A in AP2!

I went on like full blown panic mode last week about getting into the program haha. I attended one of Barbara Gaither's health care seminars last spring and she said to email if we had questions, so I actually already sent her an email when I was at the height of my panic, before I found this thread. She emailed me back today, said all my scores look great and very competitive, she says I have a great chance of getting in. I feel so much better now. A weight has been lifted. :D

She also mentioned that for the past several years they've been getting about 90 applicants each year, she's not quite sure how many will be accepted this year but it'll be around 55-65.

All of your scores are definitely great so far, you'll have no trouble. Have you taken the Pax yet?

And yes, we should definitely meet up at school. I'm Anna by the way (obviously). I'm always up at the school Tuesdays and Thursdays for class this semester. I have a big gap between classes on Tuesdays, get outta class at 12:15 & don't have to go back for the next one until 3:00. I usually just stay at the school, either the library or I pop over to pop-eyes. Are you there on Tuesdays?

See! You're totally fine and I agree absolutely competitive. I took the NLN last semester and got a 154 so I'm all wrapped up and ready to apply once I get my CPR card.

Im doing BSN prereqs online this semester and I'm only on campus Wednesday nights for my bio lab. Maybe I can come chat on a Tuesday though! Can't wait to meet ya! I'm Jessy!

ITS ALMOST TIME!

I got my call today! So relieved to not have to stress over competitive admission anymore. :woot: I can't wait for next semester!

Anyone else received a call ?

how is the program? any suggestions on how to be competitive. also do you know the lowest score accepted?
