college network... help!!!

Published

ok everyone i could use a little advice. i am getting ready to graduate in may with my lpn- and everyone in my class is deciding on where to go to get their rn- i am also planning on getting my rn- however i have 2 young kids at home and one on the way in april and a husband who works a shift where i wouldn't feasibly be able to do night classes and i have been in school full time now for 2 years and can not go another 2-3 years in school fulltime financially wise and be able to take care of 3 kids and work full time. i am the type of person that i learn very quickly and catch on very quickly and have a good medical background being an emt/and a medic before i enrolled into this program that i am in now. i just had a meeting with someone from the college network where basically they send you the study guides and you test out of 67 credits and take nusing concepts 1-4 and then do your clinicals in a 2 day testing period and you have your asn - he said it could be done in 1- 1 1/2 years- i looked at the material and i think realistically i could have it done in about a year- and then if i wanted to do my asn to bsn through them adn regis university that would be about another 18 months- my head is still spinning from all the info- anyway it looks like it will be cheaper and easier for me to do it. i think that i could do the study guides and the testing out very easily. i just was wondering if anyone else on here had done that or had any experience with it and how they liked it? i dont want to enroll if its something that isn't going to be worth my money- please give me some advice!!!!!!!!

I used College Network guides for my RN through Excelsior. They worked for me. You may want to check on Ebay for guides before you sign a contract. You can get them much cheaper. Keep in mind the wait time for the CPNE is about 6 months once you've paid for it. It's tough, but doable

Good Luck

ok- that is a big help. my question is what is the cpne?? I am confused. lol they gave me the price break down today and where the testing sites were for me to take the gen ed tests plus the nursing concepts classes and thent he locations for the clinical tests. is that what you are talking about? the pamphlet did say that it took about 3-6 months to be able to get a testing site availability.

thanks for your help!!!!
