Collecting urine samples

I was just wondering...if there was a device to make the  process of collecting a sterile, urine sample, from a Foley catheter, would this device be beneficial to the nursing field?

    As NRSKarenRN stated, most indwelling urinary catheters have a sampling port that can be cleansed and connected to a leur-lock syringe or vacutainer device for sterile specimen collection.
