CNOR exam

Hi all! Has anyone taken the CNOR exam this year? If so, any recommendations? There are no stats on the CCI website. Would appreciate some feedback regarding questions/your feeling about it, etc.

I'm taking it next week!!

Thanks!!

My OR had someone come talk to us and reviewed some AORN policies/practices (kinda like a Kaplan review course, except she does this CNOR prep course for a living). They wanted us to pass the test and become certified so they paid for the class.

I also looked at the 2 books CNOR suggested for surgeries I don't often do like eyeball cases. This helped me refresh what different types of surgeries there are and what they do. They will probably ask this on the test, "what is the main purpose of _____ surgery" or "what do they do in ______ surgery".

I didn't have any math questions, but do know your acid-base imbalances (metabolic acidosis/alkalosis etc).

I peeked at the AORN book for the different types of instrument sterility. This is a must know and one of the hardest

There is a CNOR exam app, it does cost money but it helped me ease my anxiety because of the test questions

I just finished the Zander Perioperative prep course and they gave high 90% first time pass rates for their course. Also recommended apps to do. I liked it.

I assume you already took the test, but if anyone else stumbles upon this thread, I took Zander Periop course online and highly recommend it. its worth the peace of mind you get while preparing. she knows the test like the back of her hand. if you dont wanna spend the money, a lot people i know liked an app called "Operating Room Nurse Exam Prep".

scrubulator, what AORN book did you look at for the different types of instrument sterility?

hi brighidh would you recommend the zander peroioperative course? any other cnor test prep we can use available for free in the internet can you recommend to us? thanks
