CNO registration

Hi,

I received my final form to complete my registration as an RPN. It says on the phone that all annual fees will expire on December 31. It also says it takes 15 business days to complete registration once they receive the fees. It took forever to finally get ahold of them to send me the form so I was hoping that someone can help me here. Would I have to pay renewal fees December 31 if I register now? It wouldn't make any sense to register now if I'm only going to be registered for 2 weeks. Would it just make more sense to register in January? It kind of sucks to have to wait even longer since I've been waiting since May to be registered.

There should be a pro rata discount on registration fees this close to the end of the registration year. If you're working already and your employer is waiting on that magic registration number, you probably should register now. But that's something you may be able to negotiate, given there are only 6 weeks left in the year. Whichever way it goes, both those registration fees are tax-deductible...

When I moved from Manitoba to Alberta to take my current position, I had to register twice in the same month because my orientation started 3 weeks before the end of the registration year. So I had an active registration in both Manitoba and Alberta for a brief period.

CNO does not have pro rata discount for registration.

Wait! Don't register now unless you have to. They will make you pay it again on December 31st. Money grab and a waste of time, unless you are starting employment and they need you registered!
