I'm currently applying to nursing programs in the DC-Baltimore area. I'm wondering if there is much of a difference between getting a BSN in nursing or getting a master's CNL degree. Both would take about the same time. I plan on going on to get an advanced practice degree within a few years.

Welcome to allnurses! :balloons:
There are a number of existing threads here about the CNL role -- you can use the "search" feature in the upper right corner of the screen to look for them. I would encourage you to review what's already been discussed here; the CNL role is new and somewhat controversial, and it's not at all clear how much (if any) demand there is for them outside of the medical centers attached to nursing programs that offer CNL degrees ...
Best wishes!
