doing CNA work through a BSN program

Specializes in future FNP.

I have maxed out my undergraduate federal loan amount, and need a way to help pay for a BSN other than expensive private loans. Our local children's hospital has a tuition program - you only need to work for them for 3 months and then they will pay your tuition in any undergrad or grad program that leads you to a new position that they need to fill.

So I was looking at their openings, and found many for Nursing Assistants. It seems that they have 2 levels - one is for people with either a CNA certificate or 2 semesters into a nursing program, the other is.. and I quote: "High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of vocational assistant course, hospital or comparable patient care experience." I am hoping that since I have a B.S. and have been volunteering at the hospital for several months they would allow me to take a part-time position and then pay for my BSN. How awesome would that be?! :) Eventually I want my DNP too, and they would pay for that as well.

Has anyone else gone this route or similar?
