CNA training

I am trying to get my RN degree, but I wanted to know if it would be a good idea to become a CNA while going to nursing school? How do you go about becoming a CNA?

I am actually going for a respiratory therapy degree, but have to have my STNA/CNA for that as well, and I will be working in that capacity while in school. Most community colleges offer CNA classes. I would start there. I am actually going to a private training center that is a little more expensive than the college, but I am under a tight time limit to finish it, so that's why I did it this way. Good luck- I am enjoying my classes so far.

I am currently in the second semester of Pre Req's and am about to make an appointment for my Certification. I am choosing to become certified so that I can find employment while in school. I figured why not get a head start by being in the field your going to school for. I feel it will help tremendously. Don't know what your home life situation is but that also plays a factor. Are you able to fit in going to school, having a demanding job with everything else. It is a sacrifice I am willing to do. good luck.
