Clinical DVDs

I am a nurse but haven't been working for several years now (nearly 10 years). I am no longer confident that I still posses the knowledge and skills that I used to have. Does anybody knows any website wherein I can get clinical clips or DVDs such as CPR, respiratory sounds and the likes. I would appreciate if you can help. TY.

Valencia College does an online refresher course but you have to arrange for the clinical aspect yourself with a local hospital/preceptor. Cost is around 2 grand though. I was surprised as even without the refresher most places have been very good to offer long preceptorships/orientation to help me get back into the swing. Also check with your local nursing programs and see if they may be willing to let you attend a semester of the Med/surg clinical for non-credit. Some I know have gone this route and enjoyed it.

Thanks, I hope I can regain the knowledge and skills in due time. I will try to call and visit some facilities here, if they could accomodate me.

You can find really good info and review with the certification books for your area of work. For example, mine is the CCRN. Yours may be an acute floor or surgical or long term, either way look up the certifation you could get in your area of work and buy a study book with a CD. The question review with answers is a wonderful way to review. And who knows you may descide to take a seminar and eventually get certified.

All so many of the sight like BLS and ACLS have nice reviews on them.

Hope this helps.
