Classmate Failed Out :(

Hi. I've been reading these forums for awhile, but never figured I needed an account. Until now!

So, I'm first semester of an ADN and it's a very small cohort, so naturally we've gotten along and become decent friends among each other.

Anyway, one of my classmates failed out due to too low test average, and I was wondering what I could do or say to show support. It seemed so unexpected and she did really great in clinicals and I think she would make a great nurse. I just want to help her understand she's not a failure. I don't want to make it worse since I'm really bad with this stuff. I'm also just really sad in general. I thought all of us would be up there one day, graduating, but this is just the beginning, huh? :( Advice?

This is just the beginning.

Also, realize that while other students may think that a peer may be a great nurse, they have no real-life basis for comparison or perspective.

Yep, this is just the beginning.
