Clarkson College

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Heading over for an interview at Clarkson college in the morning. Any thoughts on the school? How well did they prepare you, clinical sites, good things, bad things. Any information really would be appreciated.

I interviewed Friday Oct 22. It was a great interview. No clinical questions. I really liked the set up.

In case anyone was wondering how Clarkson does their interview, they have you come a bit early to fill out forms and talk with current students. There were two students who were two months in and two were nearing graduation.

When the panel of interviewers were ready, you go into a room with 8 or so current instructors. You get a chance to talk about yourself and say anything. Then the panel each ask you a question. They ask thinks like "what would you do if harshly criticized," "do you see any barriers to your education," "describe your favorite patient." When they are done asking questions you have an opportunity to ask questions. Then youre on your way. Took about 35 nerve wracking minutes. But it was great.

Do you know what the time frame is for them to offer acceptance letters? I meant to ask, but forgot.

I forgot to ask them as well. I would assume some time in the next 2 weeks.

I saw on another message board site that someone was notified via phone that they were accepted. Have you heard anything? I haven't yet :(

Nope not yet.

Got an email today. I've been waitlisted. I'll take it.

Me too. Kind of disappointing but it's because of my interest in other schools that I was put on the wait list. Kind of strange that they were surprised I had applied to other schools. Kind of foolish to apply to only one school and hope you get one of 12 spots in my opinion.

They didn't ask me if I had applied to other schools. I made it sound like it was the only one I'm considering. It's not, but I only applied to two others.

Which ones did you apply to?

Two Arizona schools. One I'm interviewing at tomorrow. The other I'm waiting to hear if I've got an interview. How about you?

Excela health in Pennsylvania and I got in there. I just interviewed at mt. Marty in South Dakota and I'm waiting to hear back. Hoping I get in there. That was my top choice out of the 3 I applied to.
