Chemistry

I've been trying to find out if Clinical Chem is harder than General Chem. I hear people talking about math classes, and some nursing school prereqs say algebra, but taking anything higher than algebra would count as their prereq. Well I was wondering if that would be the same for chemistry as I have clinical chem credits plus 5 general chem credits, BUT I need general chem 1 and 2.

I WAS planning on taking general chem 2, but then I heard that the school would take intro to general chem, and then general chem for the 6 credits needed.

So I don't exactly know what to do here. I guess I can ask the school if I really could do intro to chem, and then since I already have general chem 1 if that would be enough.

They said my clinical chem wouldn't count because its too specific and not really what they're looking for. It's frustrating because I pretty much live in chemistry at my job. I guess the optimistic view would be that taking the class would be a walk in the park.

/sigh.

Without know what your school's Clinical Chem course entails, we really can't answer your question. You stated "I heard" several times I'm your post. Did you hear the info from other students? Your best bet is to schedule a meeting with the academic advisor or nursing school admissions advisor to get the definitive answer you're looking for.

So, speak with an advisor. You can also make an appointment with someone in the science dept who is familiar with both courses.
