Will salary increase with the new title? If so, why would a hospital hire a DNP over a PA?

I've not heard of NP's getting paid more after having obtained the DNP. However, what is happening in my area does not necessarily mean that it will be the same where you are. At the current time, the DNP is still fairly new so it is still quite premature to judge the implications of this degree. I would imagine any employer would still hire a certified nurse practitioner, DNP or not, if the candidate fits the qualifications of the position in terms of clinical experience or background.

One of my teachers said that she got a $30,000 increase in salary as a psych DNP. I don't know about the other ones though.
