Chances of getting in????

Well, I have decided to try and apply for the nursing program at North Hennepin Community College after this fall's semester (hoping to get into fall 2006 class). Unfortunately, this will require me to quit my current well paying job. I will have completed all my pre-reqs with the exception of A&P 2. With the competition being keen, I was wondering what my chances were on getting in not having completed A&P 2 prior to applying. I have maintained a GPA of 4.0 up to this point in all my pre-reqs. Thanks for any input!

I'm sorry I don't know anything about that school, but a 4.0 will better your chances for sure.

I know at the college where I will apply, the last several semesters were 3.77 and up. It all depends on how many applicants there are, and what their GPA's are.

Just apply, and see what happens. Keep your job until you find out. :)

Good luck!!!

My school maintains two waiting lists, one is chronological from the time you apply and the other is based on points. They take 40 students a semester, 30 from the points list and 10 from the chron list. The wait on the chron list is at least 3 years. Most of the schools around here (So Cal) work the same. The points list works as follows:

Nursing 190 (theory) - 5 pts for A, 3 pts for B, 1 pt for C

A&P - 5 pts for A, 3 pts for B, 1 pt for C

Micro - 5 pts for A, 3 pts for B, 1 pt for C

Physiology - We get 5 points just for taking it then the same scale as above

Gen Ed - 1 point for each class, 10 total

The first time I applied I had 19 points and didn't get in. I took Physiology and updated to 27 points. I was accepted for Fall.

Specializes in Cardiac.

My school is done completely by lotto but we had to have all pre-reqs completed prior to applying-even though the wait list is over 2 years at this point.
