Chances of getting into LPN Program?

Published

I just graduated from high school last month my gpa is 1.7, that was the cumulative gpa on my report card unless I'm understanding it wrong which is lower than most minimum requirements of 2.5. However in all my math, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, etc classes I received Mostly A's & B's with an occasional C (in 2nd semester Math).

I'm wondering what are my chances of getting accepted into a lpn program? This is my best option unless I can somehow only take prereqs at a community college or online to get a college gpa that I can then use for certain colleges/rn programs with higher gpa requirements. Any input or other ideas will be gladly appreciated!

P.s I am using this as a stepping stone to become an RN (LPN-RN Bridge) my end goal is to be an NP so I dont want waste any time here!

I'm not sure if the school you're planning to enroll in has the same admissions requirements as mine or not. For my school, to get into the LPN program is very competitive and they take 20 students with the highest GPA of the pre-req classes + TEAS score and those are the students that get into the program. I think your highschool GPA don't really affect if you will get into the program, but it might affect if you'll get enrolled to a certain college. Just try your best when you are taking the pre-reqs. I will be starting my pre-reqs this upcoming fall.
