Hi, new to this web site and I'm looking for some knowledge on a few buring questions that I have. My husband is an RN with his BSN and has been working for 3yrs in the medsurg area, he was also in the air force for 4yrs as enlisted and the 2 yrs with the national guard. Now he really wants to return to the AF as an officer. However he does have a darn DUI :crying2: that is 5yrs old. What are the chances of be able to return to the AF having that mistake on his record???

I too have my BSN and would like to work PT if he is able to get back in, so what are the chances of me being able to get a cilivan jobs on base as an RN?

If he does get back in where are some of AF hosptials that he will more then liking be stationed at.

Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to respond to my ?'s

You need to talk to a healthcare recruiter, not the ones in the strip mall. You can find the nearest one by going online and look up airforce healthcare recruiting. Moral waivers are granted however, the Air force and military in general is full and they are being picky about who they are selecting.

We have started talking with the healthcare recuiter, and he told us it will be very hard to get him back in. However, since he had prior enlistment that was a big plus for him. I just hope it work out. Thanks for the infor. Any thought on myself working as a civilan RN?

When I met with the Chief Nurse, he said a DUI will end your career in the Air Force. That's also the one thing I heard over and over from everyone from the recruiter to the higher ranked officers. Give it a shot, but keep your fingers crossed.
