Chances of Acceptance?

Published

Hi all, I was just wondering if there was really a way to figure out how good my chances are of acceptance if I make a 70+% on the TEAS-V? I go to a community college in a relatively small town(less than 2000 students), and the statistics of the program states that the average number of students admitted each year are 110. I have an average, not fantastic, GPA, but I've gotten most of my prereqs out of the way. Is there any idea as to whether or not I would be in the higher or lower spectrum of my chances?

does the school provide the average gpa and average teas scores of accepted students from previous years? if not, call the school and ask for the information. knowing this will give you an idea of where you stand. for example, if the average gpa is 3.10 and you have a 3.25, i would venture to say because you are above the average, you would be accepted.

Thank you. I've tried doing just that, but the nursing advisor is being of no help with this matter. She won't even accept a meeting for an appointment and merely tells me that there is no average acceptance rating, and that they just accept as many people as they can starting from the highest scores. From what I've asked, there is no passing rate from my school that I can really strive to get on the exam :/

Try approaching it differently. Ask "what was the average of the class that started last fall?, what was the lowest gpa of an accepted student? what was the average TEAS score of the accepted class last fall?" These are specific questions that they should have information on. Find out if they use a rubric/point system, and how they assign the points. Don't give up. Apply and hope for the best.

So strange…just about every program has that information including Law and Medical schools. I suppose at this juncture, all you can do is apply and hope for the best. Since you already have an undergraduate degree, other options will be available to you; accelerated second degree programs for example.

Good luck!

Find people who are already in the program or who are applying for the same term as you. Some may even be on here! I've been trying to do the same, looking for people to compare myself too, lol. When I turned in my application to one of the schools I asked how many people had applied, I was the 82nd person that day and it was only 30minutes left until the office closed. I became happier when she told me that they would be accepting 50-60 people, so prayerfully my chances are good. Yours probably is too, good luck
