Feb 3, 20224 yr Hi, anyone here going to Chamberlain? I'm enrolled in their FNP program and thought it would be nice to connect with others in the program or NPs that went through the program. Thanks:)
Feb 3, 20224 yr Author Great! How far along are you in the program? What speciality track are you in?
Feb 4, 20224 yr Author I start informatics Feb 28. How is it? I'm not crazy about taking informatics again. I took when I was getting BSN. Is it the same?
Feb 4, 20224 yr It's really about writing and responding to posts. There two exams. Midterm and finals. I I am doing the FNP track
Feb 5, 20224 yr Author Cool, I’m doing FNP track too. I really wanted AGACNP but I feel like it limits me to hospital. I figured I can always get Acute care certificate after?♀️
Feb 7, 20224 yr Hi. I’m starting this February 29th. I’m new as well in the NP Program. A bit nervous but excited at the same time . ?
Feb 7, 20224 yr I started in August and still nervous with each class. Chamberlain has good support system to help students. You wil? be fine. The most difficult part is the beginnin, just to start
Feb 7, 20224 yr Good. Nice to know they have a good support system. Good Luck to you too. keep us posted, how it goes. ?
Feb 19, 20224 yr I graduated from Chamberlain last year with my FNP. I landed a job 3 months after graduating and another PRN job about 4 months after graduation. I got the 6 figure salary I desired and love what I do. You all stay the course and know that some days will be challenging but it will all be worth it in the end. I had a lot of negative talk about chamberlain when I attended but it was a good program for me. I am proud of you all and you got this!!
Feb 19, 20224 yr Author Hi Neica, thank you for your encouraging comment! I'm starting my third class end of Feb and I'm excited to get through this program. Do I need to be working as a nurse in order to get an FNP position? I worked as a MS nurse from 2015-2017, and then four months in PCU in 2020 for temp position. Right now I'm taking the general courses but I know that I don't want to work during the clinical portion. I'm worried that employers will not hire me if I haven't worked as a floor nurse since 2020. I probably will not graduate FNP program until end of 2025. I'm thinking maybe work PRN during my general courses and then step away if I do need to be working. Did you work while doing FNP?
