I got accepted into Chamberlain for May start date. I have already completed my fafsa, government loans. I still need a private loan to cover $5000 for this year. I have applied for private loans with my mom and husband as a cosignor and got denied.
Has anyone used the chamberlin last resort loan offered through the school?? I know the interest is high (12% annually). Please please give input!
Thank you!

Before you start searching for private loans wait to make sure you actually need them. I have a classmate who was told the same thing and ended up getting a private loan for no reason and gets a refund every session. The tuition estimate includes a $700 a semester book charge which unless you are buying books from the school full price every session you will not spend that much. Buying your books used and shopping around brings down the cost significantly.
Hope so... Those books are $$$

You may want to check online for cheaper books in good condition not necessarily new for good savings. I for one has never purchased a book at my college bookstore. I buy them online and sell them after I'm through with it, so I end up paying nothing for the textbook. You might choose to keep the very important ones that might come in handy down the road.
