Chaffey College ADN Program Spring 2012

Published

Hello everyone,

Just thought I would start a new thread for those who are applying in spring of 2012. Application period started already, has anyone applied yet??? Love to hear your stories and answer any questions if you have any..

:w00t:

I applied. I'm currently in the Math 401 class. My last day is Monday the 30th of April. I am really excited. I wonder how many people applied this semester? Have you taken the teas test yet?

@ssmithfamily7 Heyyyy! I thought no one would answer. Well I know two people that received their letters and 1 that is on the alternate list. I hope I get something! I think a lot more people applied this semester because they didnt have an application period for october. I need a plan B because I applied at Loma Linda but idk how that will go. lol and Yes I took the teas test @ loma linda and I got a 77. I found it really hard and so did many people I know.

Wow, they already received letters. Did they receive their letters in the mail or e-mail? I havent received anything as of yet but I have a P.O. Box. When did they receive their letters? I am happy for them. I also applied to R.C.C., and I am on the waiting list at San Bernardino Valley College. Good luck with Loma Linda. I hope you can get accepted there because you'll get your BSN and its a really good school. I need 3 more classes to go there. Statictics, Organic, and English 1o2. Do you have your prereqs done to go there?

Specializes in ER, IICU, PCU, PACU, EMS.

Moved to CA Nursing Programs.

YEs! They got their letters on Thursday. IDK if im going to get anything because the deadline to "accept your spot" is May 9th. (Thats what their letters said :( ...) I also applied at RCC so we'll see. I really hope I get into LLU as well. Getting my BSN is a must! plus we have our sciences that expire n I dont want to take them all over again to get my BSN. N yes most of my prereqs are done. My last class is stats which im taking in the summer. You should also consider Azusa Pacific and Cal Baptist. Wish you nothing but the best as well.

This thread is over a year old but that's okay. Bottom line is, if I knew then what I know now, there is no way that I would consider applying to Chaffey College for the ADN program. The arrogance and elitist attitude of some of the faculty is outrageous. This is just my opinion, but I think some actually believe they are doing you a favor by "allowing" you to remain in the course.

I understand that other ADN courses have far less stress. The common denimator between Chaffey and other ADN programs is that a person will pass the N-CLEX in other schools but with less stress.

I've dealt with other professions where reputation was the priority, and Chaffey has fallen into that trap. Don't get me wrong, if a student is struggling, they will remediate them, but weeding people out to maintain their reputation seems to be their agenda and not correcting the issues of the struggling student. The other answer of course is to suggest that the student may want to go to another school. Reading between the lines, that means to them, a "lesser" school, like Mt Sac.

I'm quickly losing interest, and this post is simply my frustration with my choice of school, and the must maintain our reputation overall attitude of some of the faculty. If I didn't have so much time invested in this program so far, I think I would have quit and applied to Mt. Sac.

Ok, rantting off.

I have a lot of friends at Chaffey and I have heard the horror stories. Stay positive you can do it :)
