I once knew a UK nurse who didn't have enough hours psychiatry. She wrote places asking to do an unpaid placement and a psychiatric hospital accepted her to do the number of hours required, giving her a written statement that she'd undertaken x hours of training in their establishment. This was several years ago but just wondering if this would still be accepted? Most units are glad to have a free pair of hands for a while.

I'm going to receive a job offer from an hospital in PA. I'm going to get my BSN evaluated but I already know that I'll have some deficiency since in my university the RN are not allowed to join the paediatric ward ( just the paediatric nurse are allowed ) and the ob-gyn ( just the midwife or some girl nurse student ). Since I can't ask my university to join these rotation since I have the BSN, how can I integrate the deficiency? And who has the final word in my evaluation? Cgfns or board of nursing?
