CEDARS SINAI - any input about working at the ICU?

U.S.A. California

I am new grad nurse planning on applying to Cedars Sinai. I was wondering if anyone have worked at Cedars or currently working there, how are the staff towards new grads especially in ICU? I know there's different ICU dept like MICU, Cardio-thoracic, Surgical ICU, Pulmonary, Neuro?

I would have loved to start at UCLA med at westwood, but the new grad program for feb 2008 is full. The next one is in August 2008!

Cedars is one of the top hospitals in the nation, it has a great reputation as a hospital but I don't know much about the staff.

I do have experience as an LVN 4 years of Med/surg. So I am not a newbie in nursing but a newbie RN starting in ICU!

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

:an!:

Specializes in Transplant/Surgical ICU.

I know two people that started as new grads at Cedars. They both graduated in June 07. One of them works in the SICU and she says she really likes it. The other one works tele and she likes it too. I dont know the specifics though. Pay is good.

On the other hand a couple of my classmates did their management rotation at cedars and they said management was nasty and very catty.

thanks for the reply! really appreciate it!

I got into Cedars Telemetry floor and wonder if anyone works there can give me some input on the new grad program. All inputs are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
