2013 CCP Nursing Program

My enrollment profile was changed to nursing last week and I registered for my fall nursing 101 courses today ! (: who else has registered already ??

Nursechilds how do you know what classes to register for? I'm still waiting for info to come in. Especially Holding my seat for the fall semester. Besides your enrollment profile did anything else change or did you receive anything?

there are four components which you have to register for in Nursing 101. Lecture, Lab, Seminar, and Clinical. The first three have specific times and dates attached to them. The clinical has no hours attached, everything is TBA because for the first 5 weeks you are in a classroom at CCP thursday and friday 8am-2pm. During week 4-5 they will assign clinicals to everyone. At the end of week 5, beginning of week 6 you will do a clinical checkout where they assess you and determine if you are hospital ready. If they don't think you are ready you will still be able to attend clinicals but you won't be able to do much and you will have to redo your checkout at a later time. You will notice when you search for the Nurs101 course only lecture has credit hours attached. But that doesn't mean anything, you have to register for all 4 components. Don't worry though, during orientation in May, they go over exactly what you have to do and you can register at that time. Lecture is always mon 8am-1030am and tues 8am-930 am. you don't have an option. Seminar and Lab are where you can pick times, but there are only a few times and days available since clinicals are on thurs and fri.

Registered for all my classes too:). Do you know when we can start getting our criminal background check, drug screen, CPR certification, etc.?

I had 8 points.

Not yet but I took it a week after you on March 1 so hopefully by early next week...at least they are making progress and closer to my test date...LOL!!

You can start now if you want. I did my CPR training in April. The drug screening you can't do yet because they send you to a specific lab at 19th an market to have the test done and you have to make an appt. In the orientation package you will get in May they give you direct links for the child abuse clearance and criminal back ground check. When you get the criminal background results you can go to holy family college and get your fingerprinting done.

I see someone cleared up the registration process. But in order to even apply for those you have to have previously taken the corequisites like diet and a&p, or register for them for the fall first or else it won't allow you to register for any nursing courses. It'll pop up as an error. Btw I got my acceptance letter Saturday and they want the 50$ right away. So I have to turn it in by the 5th of April. I assume they are still sending out letters, hope all of you receive yours soon !

I emailed admissions today who said that they submitted my profile to the nursing dept. for review and that a decision should be made soon. I've read on other threads that they only send letters out and change profiles on thursdays or fridays...so 4 more days of waiting..hopefully!
