Hi All. â˜ºï¸ So was hoping to get opinions/thoughts/perspectives .... I have been a nurse for 8 years...1 year of med/surg, 5 1/2 years L&D and 1 1/2 years as a nurse care manager...I work for a great company, make good money but sorely miss being at the bedside. I knew since I was four that I wanted to be L&D ...loved it but was burnt out at the end because I was weekend option nights and started not sleeping well....plus the last of my kids went to school etc. I have tried really hard to like this cushy job...I mean many nurses aspire to want a good paying desk job right? (Am asking)
well after 1 1/2 years of it I decided I couldnt/can't do it anymore...I now have an interview for an OB position at a hospital five min from home. I miss three days a week...and the interaction with the patients and babies...this will be mother/baby but I believe with opportunity to float to L&D 😠plus it is days... Anyway else leave the bedside and then went back? Anyone not miss it at all? Just wondering if my colleagues (u all) think this is crazy so I figured I would post. Ultimately I do know what is right for me but do enjoy others opinions â˜ºï¸ Afraid of 'stepping backwards' though please don't wrong I think bedside is wayyyyyyyy better 😊
