I am returning to nursing after raising my children.
I am interested in Case Management.
Do you think it is possible to re-enter in this specialty?

I am an ER CM and at least in our hospital - clinical experience is important. However, it isn't the only deciding factor. How recent is your last hospital employment? Good luck...
I have been out of nursing a very long time...the whole time my children were growing up.
I spoke with someone in the profession today that suggested that maybe with a good orientation program, I would be able to handle it.

These employers are only going to care about the knowledge base you possess and not when the last time you cared for a patient was.Try looking for case management positions that say "Telephonic" or "Field." These are usually offered by insurance or managed care companies.I hope this helps
