careers in informatics

Hi, I am thinking of starting an MSN program in informatics and wanted to get some feedback regarding career flexibility with this degree. i am very interested in this field, but was wondering what types of companies hire for this specialty; ranges of salary;and just any other feedback that anyone thinks would be helpfulf.
