I am an RN with years of experience working as a dialysis nurse in a clinic setting.
I am very open to a salary cut to work in another field of nursing, in fact I expect it. I am not interested in working in management at all, but leaning toward office nursing.
My concern is that hiring managers will look at me as over qualified, assume I would expect similar salary and not even consider my application at all. How would I make it clear up front that salary is not my main focus?
Thanks!

I'm interested in seeing what type of responses you receive. . . I think this type of career "mobility" is going to become more common place as folks like you and I begin to 'wind down' our working life. The old days of going in to full retirement at 65-ish are over due to today's economic realities. I know that our HR folks are beginning to develop strategies that encompass the concept of phased-in retirement so that we can continue to benefit from the contributions of our most knowledgeable employees even though they aren't able (or don't want) to perform full time work any longer.
