Care Plans

Do most of you have standard Care plans? In home care we have to document everything. I think it would be great for someone to invent a care plan book to remind the nurse to teach this about Diabetes on day 1, on visit 2, teach this certain thing about Diabetes. and so on. Is there any such book/article just for home care workers???

Yes there are some good ones on the market. Gentiva developed their own. OUr company is looking at several options. Our company still uses care plans which you do not have to do anymore in Ohio. You have to do care planning which can be met by good assessments specifics and such in the treatment area and precise goals.

Do you work for Genteva? Where are you from? I am in upstate NY.

No I do not work with Gentiva but did consult with them by contract.

Where I work we refer to-- http://rncentral.com

They have care plans that you can print up and use. We use these because they are standardized and simple.

Also, there are MANY valuble resorces at Barnes and Nobel Book Sellars and Borders Book Stores in the Medical Reference section.. granted some of these will cost you 35 to 50 bucks but they are well worth it if you do allot of different care plans.

Good Luck!

Beth.
