Jan 15, 201214 yr Having too many options can be just as hard as having too few. I graduate in May and I'm trying to decide which branch to join. How did you choose and what do you like or regret about it?
Jan 17, 201214 yr With BRAC, we will all be working together eventually. We already are combined in San Antonio.I would look at the potential for locations. Sounds silly, but I find that I have very few options as an AF ICU nurse. I like the 6month deployments with AF (though that can always change, if you get jet tasking it's longer). And compared to the Army nurses I work with, I know more in advance when my rotation for deployment is - every 18 months my bucket is open. I chose AF because I was Army enlisted and I don't think I can keep up with them anymore! lol
Jan 17, 201214 yr Watch Baghdad ER (HBO) and if you are still ready, join the US Army :) Depending on your specialty. Army deployments are now 9 months.
Jan 18, 201214 yr Author That would be a month longer than my last one. I actually like deployments; rarely a dull moment. I've never seen the show but I'll check it out. Thanks
Jan 18, 201214 yr I was in the AF for 5 years and liked it. At the time the AF tended to be a little bit more like the civilian world which I liked. With changeing AF mission, that may have changed.
