Can nurses go in as capt?

Hello,

I went to see my recruiter this morning to turn in more paperwork for the board. Initially, he told me I will be going in as a capt because of I have 10 years of experience but now he said the AF is capped off at 3 years for BSN which means I will be going in as a lieutenant. Is this something new the AF is doing that all BSN nurses will go in as lieutenant regardless of how many years they have under their belt? Can anyone shine some light on the topic?

Thank you

Someone else posted about this recently. I believe they want you to have some military experience before you are promoted to O-3. While you are an experienced nurse, you are inexperienced in being an officer in the service. I believe only those with an MSN can come in as O-3 with the appropriate years of experience.
