Hello all I need advice when it comes to calling the CA BRN?
I want to know what has worked for people when calling the CA BRN or was it much better to just drive to Sacramento to talk to them??
My NCLEX story:
I took the NCLEX RN on 3/15/17 in CA and this was my 2nd attempt.
(The day of my test, my time to take it was delayed because for some reason the Pearson Center's computers would not let the administrators log in for me to take my test. I had to wait 10-15min maybe. I have no clue if that is affecting my results.)
Today is 4/6/17 and I still have no results. (it's been 3 weeks and a day - including weekends).
I have tried calling the CA BRN at 8:00AM for a few days and at other times in the afternoon, but no success so far!! I will only consider driving to the CA BRN if it has been 6 weeks and I haven't heard anything. I need help! Thanks!

Hi; did u ever get your results? How long did it take? I am still waiting for mine but not very hopeful. also in CA.
Hi NURSEYNURS3,
Yes I did!! I am so sorry I didn't see your post!
So I took it on Wed, 3/15/17 in CA and I started trying to calling them I believe the week of March 27.
I remember on Fri., 4/7/17, I called the CA BRN and actually got through! The guy on the phone basically said something about how there was a form that I apparently had in my file that expired but he would talk to his supervisor about it and in another week I would get something in the mail.
Basically I felt devastated because he did not give me any hope and I've read somewhere here that getting something in the mail usually means you did not pass. However, the next morning, in the EARLY morning, at like 7:00 AM or something, my mom checked online through the license verification and I found out I passed! Praise God!
So to recap, I took my NCLEX (2nd attempt) on 3/15/17 but found out I passed on 4/8/17.
I would say if you haven't heard by now, still persistently call the CA BRN and explain how long you have been waiting and if they are missing anything that you can give them in order to speed up the process.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

I know this is resolved but I just wanted to throw out there how I managed to get ahold of the BRN.
I started calling at 7:40 am, memorized the numbers that I needed to press to talk to the people that I wanted to talk to (I think I had to press 1 and then press 2), and then just kept calling. At 8:02 am instead of the automated message that I had gotten before saying that they were closed, it said "due to unforeseen circumstances, we are open but unable to take calls at this time"
So I hung up and called back right away. The next time I called, my phone call went through. I was put on hold for about one or two minutes and then got to talk to someone.
I read about doing this on allnurses and it worked for me! So anyone else who needs to get ahold of them, try that first before you drive up there!

This is all you have to do: call, press 0, if you get the 'we're too busy to care' message repeat steps 1 & 2 until you get through.
