Hi my name is Danielle, and I've recently applied to the nursing program at Calhoun Community college  for the Spring 2026 semester. I made this discussion to see if anyone else has applied also! ?

Hey Danielle! I applied as well! Letters should go out next week! I'm super nervous but excited! How many points did you have?

Yay!! I have 44 points in total! I just finished up the last of my classes this past Summer so yea, I'm just happy I got it all out the way completely! LOL but I've been counting down the days and I'm so excited and nervous as well. How many points did you total up to?

Yay!! That's so awesome! You shouldn't have any problems getting in! Did you take the HESI? & I ended up with 35 points. I've completed all my prerequisites as well so I'm hoping that will be enough to get me in. I didn't do so well on my Act and I found out about the HESI too late to take it. Tomorrow's the big day!! Good luck Girlie! ?⚕️

Yes, I actually did take the HESI and yes I understand because I almost found out about it too late! Haha ...My original ACT score wasn't that good so I ended up taking the HESI and scoring a 77% so that helped boost the points up a lot. My grades are mostly  good with just 2 or 3 Cs, but the HESI and having all the courses done really helped me big time LOL. I've heard that if we're in the 30s and up range, we probably have a better chance at getting in. Hopefully we're in that lucky group and get to meet one day! Good luck to you as well!:)

Was the HESI hard? And I'm praying that we get accepted! I have sweating my email thread out all morning hoping to see my acceptance letter.

Trust me I know how you feel LOL...I'm so nervous, I can't stop looking at my phone! And Not really! They have a lot of practice tests that help you prepare for what you may see. I think it tested on Reading comprehension, Math, A & P, Biology and another one I can't remember. But personally it's way better than taking the ACT again bc it's more college base work to me  and what we've recently learnt in college.

Haha, they got us in the chokehold already. I can not stop looking. And yes! I definitely should've did my research on taking the HESI instead of relying on the ACT.

I got my acceptance letter last night?? what about yall?

I got mine too! I'm still shocked honestly! LOL

I didn't get in y'all. I didn't make the point cutoff. But I will be taking the HESI and trying again for the Fall 2026. Good luck to you ladies and congratulations!! ??
