Hello guys,
I am internationl nurse. I failed the 1st time of NCLEX-RN today! I got 4 Calculations.
I have a few questions here:
#What is mean to put the answer in one decimal number? Can you please give me an example?
# If I have to convert 41 Ib to Kg? Do I calculate it as 18.63 Kg or 19Kg or 18.636363kg?
# I got in the exam mg/kg/day and they wanted ml, how can do it? give me an example please?
Thank you!

One decimal number is for example: 16.79 would be 16.8 16.33 would be 16.3
Its 1 number after the POINT. Numbers UNDER 5 are rounded to the lower number, numbers ABOVE 5 are rounded to the higher number.
Pounds divided by 2.2 is so and so many kilograms. If you have to keep calculating you just leave the number in the calculator.
If you only suppose to calculate pounds into kilogramm, it will tell you how many decimal you need to round to, or whole number.
I think for the last one you just calculate it till the end and then you just convert mg into ml.
Here are some examples: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/med-calculation-problems-341971.html
PLEASE ANYBODY CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG :) !!
Thanks for your answer~
I have another question: Is that a therapeutic communication technique when the nurse said "I am here if you would talk about it"?

German girl is right. There is a post not too far back about therapeutic communication.
Basically...
Do not ask yes or no questions unless its regarding suicide
Do not ask why
Do not put the nurse into the statement. Such as, "I have been through a divorce as well." This seems therapeutic but it puts focus on the nurse rather than patient.
The statement you mentioned sounds therapeutic but it depends on the context of the question and other answers.
