I have been thinking of going to college for nursing, but im not sure if I should become a rn in California where I live right now or move to Texas and become an RN out there. Does it take longer to be a nurse in Texas or is it the same as in CA?

It depends on the school and your ability to handle the work loaded each semester, not the state

If you're a CA resident, it might be a lot cheaper to get your license there. Move to a new state and tuition is very high till you meet residency requirements. All 50 states use the same license exam, and you usually will have an associates degree before you're eligible to take the exam. Good luck.

It is cheaper to go to school in California, I am also a native. But I moved to Texas for a job because I could not find a new granduate job. Actually I asked around and then didn't even try. I was from the bay area and knew the competition would be stiff. I came to Texas a started in a CVICU. Good luck with your decision.

hi kimicurn.. so how would you advise everyone else who wants to transfer to texas?
go find a job first before applying for license endorsement or have a ca license endorse to texas as early as now that one haven't found work and still in the process of job hunting and submitting resumes anywhere around tx.
thank you. :)
