CA CEUs

Published

Hello all! I am doing CEUs for the first time and I will be submitting them in California. I don't understand how they work or how to go about completing them. How do I complete them? What do I submit to the board of nursing? How do I submit it all? And where do I find them? I am so confused.

You follow the instructions with the CE material. Have them send you your certificate of completion (usually by mail or email). Keep that certificate until renewal time. You will write the course info on the back of your renewal form and send it in with your payment for your renewal. Keep your certificates for a minimum of four years because you are subject to audit for four years. If you are ever audited, they will request that you send in copies of the certificates themselves.

If you just got your license, your first renewal is a freebie. You do not have to do CEs for your first renewal two years after your first license. But you will need them for your second renewal, which will occur four years after your first license. Any questions, refer to the Board website or call them. HTH

Forgot to add that any CE that you submit for your second renewal must be completed after your first renewal and before your second renewal.

I have used my freebie so now I need to actually do the CEUs. How do I get CE material- that's what I'm having the hardest part with right now. How do I know what's legit and receive all the correct paperwork.

I'm pretty sure there's lot of websites where you can do them
