breach of contract

I enrolled with an agency ,I did my NCLEX_RN under them, because of retrogression i got stuck and now I got married and settled in US and I am getting many job offers . the agency did my intial registration if I want to work in the state i live,i have to get register.

will the agency allow that? I am in a fear that they may say that i breach the contract without working under them(the compensation for breach of contract is $40000(to be honest --:twocents::twocents::twocents:no way i have that much money,if I have that much money sure i wont look for job):uhoh3::uhoh3:)

Anyone encountered the same situation,?

Moderators, experienced people please advise me what can be done in this situation?..

Is that ok if i initiate regisration in the state without my agencies knowledge?? I dont know how the system works..:mad:

The thing is you signed a contract with an agency, doesn't matter that you have found another way to live in the US. Have you spoke to the agency because really you should honour your contract. May be worth speaking to a lawyer experienced in this type of thing.

Congrats on getting married :)

If i work in US on my own will it be breach of contract ? can I do the registration in the state or Do I have to inform my agency?

As stated before you should speak to an attorney and the agency and ask them. Only they can help you. Nobody on this board can help you as nobody has read your contract with the agency. Good Luck

I'd be interested in the outcome of this. I signed a contract in 2007 and so have been caught in the retrogression trap also. Another nurse I know signed with the same agency around the same time as me. He mentioned his wife was keen to relocate in Australia and when I asked him about the $10,000 fine he said our Attorney had told him that with the time that has passed it would be difficult to pursue someone for this. Your situation is different though as you are now resident in the US - unless the agency doesn't know this?? I would e-mail your Attorney and see the response.
