The patient's family gathered at the hospital to hear what the specialists had to say about their beloved.

"Things don't look good," the doctor began.

"The only chance he has is with a brain transplant. Now you know that this is experimental procedure. It might work: it might not. Either way, brains are very expensive and you would have to cover the cost on your own."

"Well, how much does the brain cost?" piped up one relative.

"A male brain is $500.000. A female brain is $200.00."

Some of the younger male relatives tried to looked shocked, but the rest of the men nodded, thinking they understood. A few actually smirked. But the patient's daughter was unsatisfied. "Why the large difference in price between male brains and female brains?" she asked.

"A standard pricing practice," said the head of the team. "Women's brains have to be marked down because they've actually been used.
