Books

Hi I am currently looking for some good websites to purchase my nursing books. I understand that most Nursing books are expensive.. but I do think they won't be as expensive like if I were to purchase them here in my campus bookstore.

I really appreciate your help! It will help me compare prices!

Thank you

Good day, irak10

I've been using amazon.com for books as well as the campus bookstore. I've been told when it comes to nursing books, don't rent; a fellow Microbiology student going into their 3rd semester of nursing school/clinicals shared she made a major mistake renting 1st semester only to have to buy the same books for 2nd. I've seen posts about people using half.com, chegg.com, ebay.com.

Thank you.

Thank you so much! You have a great day!!!

My first semester, I spent over 4 hours searching online for the best textbook deals. I saved about $40 when you factor in shipping. I basically paid myself $10 an hour to look all over the web. I figured that was too much effort for $40, and when you consider one book took 6 days to be delivered, I just decided since then to buy the books at the bookstore.

I figured the hassle wasn't worth the money saved and time waited. I can walk into the bookstore, and walk out 15 minutes later with everything I need. I know what condition the used books are in. I don't have to wait for the shipment, or worry about a lost shipment. It's just easier for me.

Not all bookstores will have such comparable prices as mine.

Also, when I sell the books back, I choose Amazon textbook buyback. I believe they offer some of the best buyback prices (much more than my bookstore), plus I get to re-spend all that money on cool Amazon stuff. The downside is you don't get cash.

Go ahead and take the time to search the web for your first semester for the best deals. Compare the prices to your book store. If you feel like you saved enough to make the time spent searching and waiting, then continue it through your schooling.

Amazon is probably the best website to buy new or used textbooks, I've found $200 textbooks on there for almost, if not, half off, and what's a little wear and tear? If you have an Apple device such as a Macbook or iPhone I would also suggest seeing if any of the necessary textbooks are on iBooks. Although there isn't much of a selection now, none of the books I've seen are over $15 and it's super convenient.
