Hello Everyone!
I was hoping that someone could suggest some very descriptive books about operating room instrumentation.
Thanks a bunch.....:)

Here are a couple of links to look at some surgical instruments
There are also surgical instrument books on Amazon, but I don't know how detailed they are
Another suggestion is to go to your hospitals purchasing department for the OR and ask if they
have any old/ retired instrument catalogues you could have
KLS Martin Group - Medizintechnik: Table of Contents
Aesculap Surgical Instruments Catalog - Think Surgical Instruments. Think Aesculap. - Products
For you once you are working in the OR, you can learn how to look at the surgical techniques online. This will be very helpful to you, and you can find techniques (Ortho) mainly for most surgeries.. the information is out there, you just have to search
In orthopedics there are many companies that supply instrumentation for the surgeries, and they have online surgical techniques, some of the companies are Zimmer, Depuy, Stryker, Medtronic (Spine), etc For Example:
Surgical Techniques
Hope this helps, and if you are taking an OR post grad course I am sure they can direct you to texts.
I also found some apps for you, and if you note that you can find any category of instruments if you also click on (view more by this developer)

Good Luck!

During orientation, we were given "Instrumentation for the Operating Room" by Shirley Tighe. The OR Nurse Educator may have some resources for you too.
