Hello again all my recovering nurse gurus :bowingpur I will be taking my board ordered medication admin class in May, in Tyler Texas, and am wondering if I could solicit some insight into what to expect. The class is 8 hours of didactic and 24 hours of clinical. Is there anything I should brush up on first? Please share with me any of your experiences with this class, whether in Texas or elsewhere, so I may be as prepared as possible to do the very best I can. I appreciate you all so much.:kiss

I know this post is old from March but I was wondering how it went. I am needing to take this class before Nov. and trying to decide which company to go with and what to brush up on. Any advice?
I took my classes in Tyler Texas. Are you a Texas nurse?
I am. I live in Wichita Falls. I have a warning with stipulations on my license from a med error I made in 2010. I am having a hard time deciding which company to go with and what I need to brush up on. Any advice? I am really, really nervous.
I will PM you the name of the place in Tyler I went. You will really like the instuctor. I took the med admin class, the documentation class and the juris prudence class. The lady who teaches this is a nurse and a lawyer. She is very thorough with her paperwork to the BON and will put you at ease immediatlely. She is very non judgmental about our situations and really wants to help. Look for a PM from me soon with details. It is worth the drive..I live only about 60 miles south of you and I would make the drive again in a heart beat. I was able to get a hotel room near by for $50 a night. The med admin class is one day of theory and 3 days passing meds in a LTC near by. Very laid back, very non threatening. You do not need to brush up on anything..this stuff is really nursing 101..so no worries.
