BMCC Evening Nursing Program

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for only true experiences in the BMCC or other nursing programs. Here is a place where you can vent your frustrations and try to figure out alternative ways to succeed if you are struggling.

I had a negative experience in BMCC. I had a 4.0 and I withdrew from the nursing program. I was shocked at the conduct of the professor for fundamentals Nur 112. She was terrible and unprofessional. She came to class 15 minutes late each time and then told students they had to be on time for clinicals. She didn't teach and most of her review were things learned in Anatomy. Her exams were difficult and none of the programs PREP U or Adaptive Quizzing was helpful in preparing for them. She just told you to focus on certain tables in the textbook, but didn't teach any of the material. She didn't use powerpoint at all. She spent her time reading the tables from the text, but no teaching. How can you learn the material necessary to be a nurse if this is the foundation course? I was very disappointed in this program. I even saw students who did well on exams yelled at in their first clinical. We will make mistakes, but if we have better instructors we can minimize these errors. I suggest investigating all programs and try to get testimonies from the students themselves to avoid these pitfalls and professors who don't teach. Please share and let me know how you are overcoming any issues you have in your programs.
