so a question on my study guide asks me if seeds have cells? and if they do have cells, where in the seed would they be and what would their function be? im pretty positive they have cells but im not sure exactly where, so if anyone could help that would be great :-) thanks everyone.

Gawd this took me back to plant biology - if I remember a seed contains an embryo which will almost certainly contain cells. I cannot for the life of me remember how many, but a seed is essentially a storage shell for the embryo. Now the seed itself is essentially an ovule - but I dont remember if at the seed stage that is a living cell! Probably your best bet is a google search!
